The Great British Brekkie at Montpellier Lodge

The Great British Brekkie at Montpellier Lodge

Traditional English cooking has taken a long time to take its place amongst the world’s best cuisines. Thanks to a lot of international influences, that is no longer the case. But one meal in particular has always been held in high esteem the world over, and that is the Great British Brekkie (GBB), often simply referred to as a full breakfast.

Winston’s Wish and the bereaved children of the UK

Enjoying the Great British Brekkie isn’t just about fuelling up for the day with a delicious, full cooked breakfast. In a few days’ time, it will also be something you can do in support of Winston’s Wish – the UK’s children’s bereavement charity.

For a period of 7 days, from the 3rd of July until the 9th, the Winston’s Wish charity organisation is encouraging people all over the UK to join in the fundraising, by holding their own GBB event. Here at Montpellier Lodge in Cheltenham, we are proud to be taking part.

Tasty food for the Great British Breakfast charity campaign

Montpellier Lodge is synonymous with great & tasty food, and if you didn’t think that the GBB fitted into this category of cuisine – you obviously haven’t dined here before. We open our doors at 10:30 every morning (including Sunday) except Monday, when we serve some tasty breakfast dishes including eggs benedict, Gloucester Old Spot sausage sandwiches, the ML BLT just to name a few.

Being located in the heart of Cheltenham, adjacent to Montpellier Gardens, our Lodge is the ideal location that brings together all the elegance of modern day great food, but in a glorious, traditional setting. With our glazed conservatory, beautiful courtyard and tastefully decorated restaurant, it is the perfect location for any gathering.

Celebrating the fresh local produce of the South West

Being in Cheltenham we proudly specialise in the local, fresh food products that the South West has to offer. It’s at the heart of everything we do. Our menus are changed regularly to take advantage of the great local produce on offer. Everything is cooked fresh, to order.

The Great British Brekkie is not just a breakfast. It’s a vehicle for raising money for bereaved children. Winston’s Wish have set their sights on raising two and a half million pounds this year, and the GBB event that is taking place all over the UK in early July is an important part of the strategy.

Come and enjoy your GBB event here at Montpellier Lodge

We want to encourage people to host their gatherings in support of the event, in the unique setting of Montpellier Lodge. Whether it is a family group, a business breakfast meeting, a business lunch, or indeed any other sort of celebration, what better background than supporting the bereaved youngsters of the UK?

Remember, you don’t have to come and have a full meal. Why not pop in during the early morning for coffee (or tea) and cake? You might enjoy your surroundings so much you could be tempted to stay on for lunch, or an evening meal, and why not indeed?

Whatever you spend on food and drink at Montpellier Lodge, you will be adding to the charitable donation we will be offering Winston’s Wish at the end of the event. It’s a very worthy cause.

Celebrity dining

Many people come to our unique setting, not just to experience great food in Cheltenham, but also to do a bit of celebrity spotting. Many of Cheltenham’s sportsmen and women grace us with their presence on occasion. You never know who you might see.

Our Rotunda fronted dining room seats up the 30 people. Its natural wood tables and comfy dining chairs create a welcoming, bistro ambience, and our lovely conservatory, capable of seating up to 36, is elegant simplicity. The bar area seats up to 26 guests and here you can enjoy anything from a cup of tea, a glass of chilled white wine, a glass or two of sparkling prosecco, to a bottle of sumptuous 2011/12 Château Mont-Thabor Châteauneuf, and more.
